Palas mall is named after the nearby Palace of Culture (Palace is palas), the supreme icon of Iasi (265.000 inhabitants).
It has its opening on the 1st of June, when I was actually in the city and I visited it in that magic day. It's a beautiful mall, extremely modern, covering a huge area. There are theaters, food court, an enormous Auchan supermarket, as well as all the usual big chains of shops in Western Europe, like Zara, Bershka, Douglas, Sacoor, etc. It's truly an impressive place, by its dimensions, building techniques and finishings. Definitely the central place in Iasi from now on.
