The Santa Barbara Municipal Airport is located next to the University of California, near Goleta, California. The land on which the airport resides was annexed by the city of Santa Barbara and is connected to the city by a corridor of land, most of which is in the Pacific Ocean.
The airport is served by five regional airline carriers: Alaska Airlines, American Eagle, Frontier Airlines, United Express and US Airways Express. Major destination cities are Denver, San Francisco, Phoenix, Seattle, Los Angeles and Portland.
A new 72,000 square foot terminal was opened in 2011.
