Lt. Sam H. Rempel, II's memorial is located on the east side of Rose Hill Burial Park, at the center of section 11, nestled between two trees. This is one of the largest markers in section 11, with a tall upright monument in the center and two smaller sections on the side. On the west side is the text, and shown above that is the emblem for pilot's wings, to illustrate Sam's occupation.

Lt. Sam H. Rempel II
October 1929 - July 1955

Finished H. School N.M.M.I. 1946. Medals, marksmanship, horse riding technique, entered O.U. age 16 Medicine, Kappa Alpha. Enlisted Aviation Cadet U.S.A.F. 1950 Finished among top 5, and offered Lifetime Commission. Korea 25 missions, B-29 Pilot, Korean Service Medal, Air Medal U.N. Service Medal and Nat. Defense Service Medal. Promoted to A.C. May 1953 Air Refueling Squadron- K-97 Tanker, Castle, A.F.B. California-Honorably Discharged Oct. 1954. Employed by T.W.A. May 1955, finishing two weeks ahead of class with highest average in history of school. Was cleared for landing as he flew instruments on his last training flight when hit by DC-3, causing his death. First fatality for T.W.A. Trainees and his last record.
