In 1920 the Town of Flambeau was incorporated, taking with it the Lugerville settlement. The lugerville School closed about 1960 and the students were trsnsferred to the Phillips School System. The building is now used as the Flambeau Community Center.

The Post Office is in Phillips, WI.
