This single golden lion sits surrounded by a cornucopia of Buddhist imagery, in the centre of what looks to be a new, modern styled Buddhist wat, in northern Thailand. The lion sits on all fours, with its maned head bowed, gazing downwards. There is also a snake coiled around the feet of the lion, though I am unaware of the significance of this.
By name, the wat is deemed to be 'Sai Cowl', which, I am told, translates into English as 'White Sand'. A rather attractive Wat, worth a stop along the way to the city of Chiang Rai.
Physical Address: Pathin Yothin RdChiang Rai Thailand.
