This National Monument honors America's 16th President. The Memorial sits at one end of the reflecting pool on the National Mall.

The Memorial is in the form of a Greek Doric temple architected by Henry Bacon. A large sculpture of a seated Abraham Lincoln was done by Daniel Chester French and occupies the central area. Nearby are inscriptions of two well-known speeches by Lincoln, The Gettysburg Address and his Second Inaugural Address.
