I was out geocaching one day with my son and had just found a cache not too far from the bridge. I saw a bunch of people fishing from the bridge and surrounding shore. I approached one gentleman and asked him what was biting today. He stated that he'd gotten a bunch of crappies and a decent pike. I noticed he was using a spoon to catch the crappies and asked him if he'd caught the pike with a spoon and he replied that he was jigging a worm and caught the pike (nice). In any event, he told me that this was the best place to fish on the Rideau River around this region. He stated that there were pike, bass, bullhead, perch, crappies and more here. He even pulled up a few of his stringers full of fish, so I was impressed and wished I'd had my rod in the back of the van like I usually do. In any event, if you're in the area to cache, bring your rod with you and maybe you can jig for pike with a worm.
Cheers
