McWay Falls in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park is described as the only waterfall in North America that empties directly into the Pacific Ocean. [Well, there is another one at Reyes National Seashore but that one is seasonal whereas McWay runs whole year long.] The fall empties into a beautiful cove and the view from the overlook is stunning whole year long. McWay Cove and the slopes are a protected wildlife area and it is illegal to get down to the waterfall. Stay on the boardwalk and enjoy the view. For more, check WaterfallsWest or our Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park website.
