Major-General Sir Henry Havelock (5 April 1795 – 24 November 1857) served in the British army in India in the first half of the 1800's.

He served in the First Anglo-Burmese War (1824–1826) and First Afghan War in 1839.

He died of dysentery at Lucknow on 25 September 1857 after he and his troops were caught inside a blockade. Ironically, his death occurred a few days after the siege was lifted.
