Udon Thani is a major transport nexus in northern Thailand, 50kms or so south of the Thai/Laos border. On the western side of the town is the provincial bus station. In design the station follows the usual Thai style. The main section of the station is a long, rectangular, open, but covered waiting area, with seats, and vendors. Around this buses park ready to take on or off passengers. A total of 28 bus bays. At the front of the station a ticket area and covered drop off point. At the rear toilets.
From here buses travel to anywhere in northern or north eastern Thailand, to Bangkok, and to Laos and Cambodia. A busy station.
