Der Viehmarkt-Brunnen in Herdecke trägt seinen Namen zu Recht, da viele Elemente, wie die männliche Gestalt mit zwei Hausschweinen und der Mann aus Bronze mit der Kuh neben dem Brunnen, an diesen alten Markt erinnern.
Der eigentliche Brunnen wird durch einen großen, gemauerten kreisrunden Sockel gebildet in dessen Mitte Wasser wie bei einer Quelle sprudelt. Das Wasser läuft über die Ziegelsteine in eine umlaufende Rinne.
Am Rande des Brunnens stehen auf dem Sockel zwei Tauben aus Bronze, die menschliche Gesichter haben. Welche Bedeutung dies nun wiederum hat konnte ich nicht herausfinden.
Gestiftet haben diesen schönen Brunnen im Jahre 1987 die Dortmunder Stadtwerke.

The cattle market well in Herdecke bears his name correctly, as many elements as the male figure with two domestic pigs and the bronze man with the cow next to the fountain, to this old market.
The actual well is formed by a large, circular stone pedestal in the middle of water as a source of bubbles. The water runs over the bricks in a circumferential groove.
On the edge of the fountain are two doves on the pedestal of bronze, which have human faces. What significance this has in turn now to find out I could not.
Donated have that beautiful fountain in the year 1987, the Dortmunder Stadtwerke.
