The Lincoln Park District was the first fashionable residential area to be developed in Las Vegas following the arrival of the railroad in 1879. The district is largely intact with homes built during the railroad boom era of 1880 to 1900. Houses of many styles were built including modest wood vernacular and more elaborate Queen Anne and Italianate style homes. The proximity of the railroad enable construction of homes using stone from quarries Romeroville and Tecolote.

In general the integrity of the district is intact and the homes in good condition.

Lincoln Park is also noted as the location of the first Rough Riders Reunion. On June 23, 1899, Spanish American veterans including Teddy Roosevelt camped in Lincoln Park for the Reunion.
