Warren County was formed from parts of Frederick and Shenandoah Counties in 1836. The area saw the first white settlers in the 1730s. Because of its proximity to the Shenandoah River, it became an important shipping crossroads. Front Royal is the county seat.
The time capsule which contains items related to the commemoration of the 175th anniversary is scheduled to be opened on the bicentennial of Warren County.
