A fantastic view of Mt Aspiring but requires a bit of effort to be rewarded.

This is task requires you to take a photo to duplicate mine as closely as possible. You will be rewarded by wonderful views of Mt Aspiring and surrounds. This photo cache is a much easier version of the Cascade Saddle geocache but almost as rewarding. The co-ordinates are approx as I did not have my GPS , but this one is en route to Cascade Saddle and you can't miss the spot.
Firstly: This is NOT , and I repeat NOT an easy cache and should only be attempted under optimum weather conditions . The trail, although marked and pyloned , is longish and involves ascending steepish snow grass and a couple of short ,steep rock sections above the bush line. It should NEVER be attempted if there has been any rain, snow or high winds are forecast.
However anyone moderately fit and experienced in the mountains or used to tramping should be able to cope easily.
To reach the cache you need to drive from Wanaka to the carpark at the Mt Aspiring National Park ( about an hour) , a 2 hour gentle walk to Aspiring Hut and a 2 - 21/2 hour ascent - steep - to Cascade Saddle which is well marked from Aspiring Hut.
On arriving at the lookout - finish cursing me - then take a photo which includes the lookout point - with Mt Aspiring in the background if possible - weather dependent.
