In Taunton, within an area known as Church Green, is the Old Colony Historical Society Museum. The museum is not the original inhabitants, though. The building was original built for the Bristol Academy.

Bristol Academy was originally established in 1796.
The building was built in 1852, and it was designed by architect, Richard Upjohn, who was known for other buildings, including the Trinity Church in New York City.

I could not find information on when the school abandoned the building and the historical society took it over.

The building is a squarish structure that has two floors. It also has a cupola toward the rear of the building. Tall, narrow windows are on the first and second floors. The entrance is at a small porch.

Check the historical society's web site for hours that they are open so you can see the inside.
