This 23 foot tall steel 1988 sculpture by Italian-American artist Italo Scanga (June 6, 1932 - July 7, 2001) is located outside the San Jose Museum of Art.
It is entitled "Figure Holding the Sun" and uses an abstract style to depict a woman(?) (painted with bolts of red, blue, brown and pink) holding a yellow disk above its head. The disk has pinkish odd shape on its front surface.
