Frantiska Plaminkova (5. 2. 1875 – 30. 6. 1942) (visit link) was leading campaigner for women's rights in former Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic). She was the founder of The National Council of Women.

The National Council of Women was the Czechoslovak branch of International Council of Women. Frantiska Plaminkova was also a vice chairman of International Council of Women.

At the time of Plaminkova's birth in 1875, Czech feminism was an integral part of the Czech national movement. The Czech women's emancipation struggle coincided with the most intensely political phase of the Czech national movement for autonomy within the Habsburg Empire. The feminist movement became radicalized as well; it was transformed from its primarily ethical, cultural stage, to a more militant one for women's political rights. Plaminkova stood at the center of all its battles, participating in every' campaign and leading many of the Czech women's organizations.

Frantiska Plaminkova was executed by the Nazis during World War II as a member of the Czech resistance.

You can find this commemorative plate, on the first courtyard of Wallenstein Palace - a residence of the Senate of Czech Republic.
Civil Right Type: Gender Equality (includes women's suffrage)
