Located in front of the Sebastian County Courthouse, this mature moon tree is a wonderful addition to the grounds. The tall tree provides much welcome shade in the summer months. Located near this moon tree are several war memorials and historical markers.
A small plaque at the base of the tree reads:
Moon Tree
Loblolly Pine (Pinus Taeda)
This tree was grown from a seed that journeyed to the moon and back aboard Apollo 14 1971. Planted here on Arbor Day March 15, Bicentennial Year 1976.
