- Quelle: Wikipedia

"The Walchensee fills a tectonic depression, which is a part of the Bavarian syncline and the rocks of the upper, Alpine Triassic is (main dolomite, limestones, Kössener layers). This tectonic development of the lake owes its extreme depth of about 190 m. the rocky shores of the northern West Bank clearly shows the very steep storage of the rock layers down to the lake. the formation of mountain-building forces the conclusion suggests that the Walchensee is one of the oldest lakes in Germany. During the ice ages, the morphology of the area and thus the Walchensee multiple of glaciers of the Isar Loisach glacier marked. "- Source: Wikipedia
