Milkshake is the name of a company that developes stategies for branding. That's business jargon for one company helping another company get recognized by the public through symbols and icons and by marketing that brand in the media appropriate for the target audience. It is not representing the delicious ice cream drink ... although, if the right company hired them, it possibly could!
This neon sign is outside of an unmarked, rather plain building at 4203 Guadalupe Street, Austin, TX 78751. There is no sign on the building other than this logo in neon. The only door into the front of the building does have the company name and the slogan "We Build Brands that Build Community" painted on it. Along the bottom of the double doors are the address and the website (www.hellomilkshake.com) but it is done in plain black lettering. Nothing flashy, like the neon sign.
The metal box of the neon sign looks old and rusty. But, with the neon lit up, there are colored lights of pink and yellow that reveal three "leaves" above the letters that spell "Milkshake" in the middle of the fixture. The three "leaves" over the word Milkshake constitute the companies logo. The pink "leaves" shine on both sides of the sign and the "Milkshake" letters light up on both sides, but one side keeps the "Milkshake" lit longer. Also, on both ends of the sign, three sets of double circles of neon lights blink on in sequence; or at least two of the circle sets do. The top circles are pink, the middle circles are yellow, and the bottom circles do not light up. These would probably be pink. It is fun to watch the sequence of lights blink on and off. It is like listening to a song where the last musical phrase is omitted and leaves you hanging. It is much better to view this sign in the evening or at night. By day is discouraging. At night it comes to life.
