A plaque on the plinth of this sculpture labels it "Broncho Buster"...but that is an error since "Broncho" is not a word in English or Spanish...and the work is actually named "Bucking Bronco". The artist of this 1920 work is A. Phimister Proctor.
The Smithsonian Inventory (visit link) has this brief description of the piece:

"Cowboy astride a bucking horse on a rectangular granite or sandstone pedestal." and tells us that the dimensions are Approx. L. 9 ft. x W. 5 ft., including base.
The plaque at the site reads:

"BRONCHO BUSTER
PRESENTED TO DENVER
BY J.K. MULLEN
A.D., 1920"

The Wikipedia page about the artist (visit link) has a photo of several of his works, including this one with the CORRECT name.
