This sculpture is not only given the wrong name at the site...but the wrong name is misspelt too!

A plaque on the plinth of this sculpture labels it "Broncho Buster"...but that is an error since "Broncho" is not a word in English or Spanish...and the work is actually named "Bucking Bronco". The artist of this 1920 work is A. Phimister Proctor.
The Smithsonian Inventory (
visit link) has this brief description of the piece:
"Cowboy astride a bucking horse on a rectangular granite or sandstone pedestal." and tells us that the dimensions are Approx. L. 9 ft. x W. 5 ft., including base.
The plaque at the site reads:
"BRONCHO BUSTER
PRESENTED TO DENVER
BY J.K. MULLEN
A.D., 1920"
The Wikipedia page about the artist (
visit link) has a photo of several of his works, including this one with the CORRECT name.
