It's very rare these days in the world of big business and mega-corporate domination that a "mom and pop" store has a chance to make a go of it at all. Not so at the Oxford Mini Mart, a store owned and run by a spry little Asian woman named Moon Kang. She works at the store for 14 hours a day, 7 days a week and even lives in the back. She sells everything from groceries to lottery tickets and has sold two $1 million dollar winning tickets. She even won $100,000 on her own, but instead of retiring, she put it all back into the business.

If you've ever been in the Oxford Mini Mart, you'll automatically be greeted with a big "Hello" and a smile. She has that type of friendly relationship with everybody and that's no exaggeration. People call her "Moon" by name although she doesn't remember everyone's name, she always treats you like family.

I go there all the time on my breaks from work as she has the best deal on chocolate milk in Eastern Ontario. When I play the lottery every once in a while I'll go there as well because she is lucky. All in all though, Moon and Oxford Mini Mart have what most big box corporate stores don't have and that's personality. That's why the store always have a full parking lot. So if you go in and visit, tell Moon the "Chocolate Milk Guy" sent you.
