"The Parliament of Cambodia is the bicameral legislature of the Government of Cambodia, consisting of the Senate (Protsaphea) and the National Assembly (Radhsphea). The Parliament is composed of 181 members, 123 MPs and 58 Senators. The Constitution established the Kingdom of Cambodia as a constitutional monarchy based on the principles of liberal democracy and pluralism. The King serves as the Head of the State for life. The King reigns but does not govern, and is the symbol of the unity and of the nation.
Parliament has two chambers. The National Assembly of Cambodia (Radhsphea) has 123 members, elected for a five year term by proportional representation. The Senate (Protsaphea) has 58 members, appointed by the king on recommendation of the parties in the National Assembly of Cambodia.
The National Assembly holds legislative power. In addition to the general law-making power, the National Assembly has specific powers regarding the national budget, taxes, administrative accounts, laws on general amnesty, international treaties and conventions, declarations of war, and the formation of the Royal Government."
