This appears to be a guidepost pure and simple, but the OS locate a milestone nearby with recorded mileages on it (Skipton 2, Settle 14). However, this appears to be located a little way up Sour Lane.
This is the only object that the Milestone Society identifies close to this location.
There is no damage to the face of this stone that would indicate that there was ever mileage information listed on this one.
