I recently read of this building being the original building for the Montgomery Municipal Airport when it opened in 1929, even though it is now part of Gunter Annex. When I arrived there I saw the benchmark on the wall near one of the windows. The disk says U. S. Coast & Geodetic Survey Benchmark. Punched into the benchmark are "L180" and "1945." The benchmark is in the geocaching database.
