This clock faces outward into the entrance area of the Church. The clock uses Roman numerals, and seems to have been built by a Vietnamese company (the company name is partially obscured by the clock hands). There is a year on the clock face, 2006, presumably the year of installation. The clock appears new. The Church is easy to spot from several hundred metres away.

This Church has an interesting history. It was completed in 1902 by the Chinese Catholic priest Father Francis Xavier Tam Assou, who had been sent to Saigon to care for the city’s Chinese Christians.

In 1963 the South Vietnam’s president Ngo Dinh Diem and his brother Ngo Dinh sought asylum here, but were captured by their former troops and executed.
