Cape Cod Times Capsule - Hyannis, MA - Time Capsules on Waymarking.com

On January 1, 2000 nearly 200 items were encased in a 8-by-7-foot room at the main offices of the Cape Cod Times newspaper at 319 Main Street, Hyannis, Massachusetts. About 350 people were on hand for the special dedication ceremony hosted by Times publisher John Wilcox.

The whimsical and serious artifacts capture the flavor of Cape Cod at the turn of the century and reflect our technology, history and culture. The capsule will be opened January 1, 2050 and again on January 1, 2100 - and then each 100 years thereafter.
