St. Alban-Eck ("Dalbenegg" in local slang) is a restaurant in a historic quarter of Basel. The building is not exactly dated but was mentioned in the 15th century, in 1975 it was listed as a historic monument. The restaurant opened in the 19th century, today it offers international high-class cuisine, expensive but not over the top.
The emblem on the sign is St. Alban tower, the landmark of this quarter. It was built in the 14th century as a part of the town wall and is one of only three town gates that survived the destruction of the walls in the 19th century. It is only about 200 meters down the road from the restaurant.
