The text details the history of Dungeness with its power station, old lighthouse and new lighthouse. It defines the purpose of the boardwalk as a protection for the rare species of plants which survive here. These include the Sea Pea and the more common Sea Kale.
Gravel extraction across the shingle beach has now created habitat for seabirds, wintering wildfowl, Great Crested Newts and Medicinal Leeches.
On the information board is a colourful illustration of the landscape here with the new lighthouse, boardwalk and fishermen walking to the shoreline.
