In the Newton Highlands section of Newton, there is a nice wooden church that is the Parish of St. Paul Episcopal Church.

The church is located on Walnut Street, a little ways north of the intersection of Walnut Street and Lincoln Street. The church is a multi-part building with several peaked roofs and eaves. Rising from the roof ridge, a few feet from the front is a cupola with an open space, then capped by a shingled four-sided roof and topped by a cross. On the dormers are arched windows, while square windows can be seen on the walls below. The color of the church is green with dark green trim. The stairways to the two entrances are built having walls incorporating cobblestone. By the sidewalk is a gazebo-like structure that makes an entrance gateway, mimicing the style of the church.

The congregation is an active and welcoming assebly, according to their web site and brochure. The front of the brochure has the following:

"The Parish of St. Paul
is a vibrant, welcoming
Episcopal community of worship
that embraces its youth,
nurtures spiritual development,
honors diversity and dialogue,
and seeks to live
its Christian faith
through active
community ministries."

Services are as follows:
"Every Sunday
8:15am Holy Eucharist
9:15am Learning for all ages
10:30am Holy Eucharist with
Choir and song"

The congregation has a lot of activities and outreach ministries, including: cooking meals for the homeless at two locations; providing school supplies and tuition to children at the Epiphany School in Dorchester, purchase Christmas gifts for approximately 25 families every home; helped build a church in Belize, and joined with four other Episcopal Churches in Newton on a variety of other activities.
