Set in 1977 by U.S. Geological Survey, marked 8WS, elev. 5037. This benchmark is located along Rd. 18 at M.P. 35. The benchmark is located about 35 feet west of the centerline of Rd. 18. Benchmark was set in an outcrop of volcanic tuff, but a slab of the tuff has spalled off containing the benchmark, so benchmark is unusable.
