The M.K. and T. (Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad)Depot was built in 1912 when the railroad came to town and actual lead to the development of the town of Laverne. The depot is a one-story woodframe building typical of small depots built in small agricultural communities. The depot was a combination depot serving both as a passenger and freight depot. Passenger service ceased at the depot in 1938 and freight service ceased in 1973. There is no longer rail service nor track in Laverne. The depot is used as a business office.
