Upper Lyon Street Stairs - San Francisco, CA - Outdoor Stairways on Waymarking.com

Lyon Street is a North-South Street in the Pacific Heights Neighborhood of San Francisco running along the eastern border of the Presidio. As it reaches Green Street, it becomes too steep for cars and the Lower Lyon Street stairway enables pedestrians to climb a three story hill to Vallejo Street.

After crossing Vallejo, this beautiful stairway climbs another five stories to Broadway Street. There is a nice garden area at a landing near the bottom. The stairs are paved concrete with a metal hand railing up the center. Large bushes line the sides of the stairway with ivy plantings on the hillside. Both the upper and lower stairway are frequented by stair climbing runners.

Given coordinates are at the bottom entrance off Vallejo Street. Coordinates at the top of the stairway on Broadway Street are N37 47.576 , W122 26.787. There was plenty of parking on Broadway when I was there.
