SIDE OF CHURCH AT CADES COVE - Methodist Church, Cades Cove, TN - Ansel Adams Photo Hunt on Waymarking.com

In October 1948, Ansel Adams traveled to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to take photographs of US national parks for a Guggenheim Fellowship. The Knoxville Museum of Art currently has an exhibit (link) displaying on-line the 47 photographs created on that trip for educational purposes.

The Cades Cove area has three small white churches, thus the distinguishing feature for this photograph is the frame around the window itself which indicates it is the Methodist church. See Waymark WM2EMF

The coordinates are where I took my present-day photograph, but later when comparing it to the original I believe Ansel Adams was standing bit to the left as the image lines up this window with the one on the other side of the church. Likely on the other side of the now-present chain path fence. I see that the wire fence still exists, but removed from along the church itself and now supported by a metal post.
