Franklinton United Methodist Church was organized and built in 1844. The first sanctuary was a small, white, wooden structure with a belfry which stood on the northwest corner of Main and Mason Streets. It had two doors in front, One through which the men entered and one for the women.
The second sanctuary, and the one currently in use, was built in 1891-1892 at a cost of $6,000. It was designed by Mr. Benjamin D. Price of Philadelphia.
This church was a challenge to photograph since street is very narrow.
