The complex of the Old Town Hall in Znojmo, nowadays one of seats of Municipal office, is known thanks to the slender Gothic queen of all town's towers, the Town-Hall Tower, the key landmark of town Znojmo...
The Znojmo's Old Town hall was built in 1260, but after devastating fire in 1444 it was badly damaged and its tower collapsed. During the great late-Gothic rebulding of the Old Town Hall in 1445-1448 was built the new symbol of the town - the Tower. This masterpiece of late-Gothic architecture, with cuppola 80 meters high and with 3 m deep basement pillars, is work by Mikuláš of Sedlešovice. The Tower which was important part of town's defense for its watching function, was reconstructed several times. Nowadays serves as observation point for Znojmo visitors.
In the Old Town Hall complex you can find representative spaces of the Znojmo and also many branches of Municipal Office.
