The Thomas A. Nelson Sr. Memorial Field is a project of the former Dawson/Vanderbilt Lions Club and the Dickerson Run Community Recreation Association. With the Lion's help, the field has been modernized and a pavilion as well as modern restrooms were added later on. The park is named after Thomas A. Nelson Sr., a local businessman and member of the former lions club.
