The church of St Peter’s at Holwell was rebuilt in 1877, and most of the stone artefacts date from that time.

The most unique stone artefacts in this church are the pulpit and reredos. The pulpit is of octagonal shape with a tapered base. The pulpit has inlaid marble panels at the top and mosaic panels at the bottom.

The inlaid mosaic theme is echoed in the marble reredos of nine cinquefoil panels.
