Although chili enjoyed wide acceptance in the South, Southwest and far West by the early 1930s, it was virtually unknown in other parts of the United States. Once the rest of America realized what they were missing, chili shot to national popularity, and in no time, Geo. A. Hormel & Company was the biggest producer of canned chili in the nation. Today, chili continues to be a beloved and nutritious family favorite throughout every part of the United States.
