All that remains as the final resting place of many of our early pioneers are the graves at this historic site on Albany Highway in Kenwick. The site was used for burials since 1866 when it was part of the "Canning" district and ceased being a functioning cemetery in 2001.

Kenwick Pioneer Cemetery remains as a reminder of the struggles and achievements undertaken by the pioneers of this district. It ceased being a functioning cemetery in 2001. A total of about 220 burials are recorded for the cemetery.

This site has been registered as a place of significance by the National Trust of Australia (WA).
