This golden bell is attached to what I take to be an old wall, now running part way through the grounds of a medium sized guest house, the "Mandalay Inn"—home away from home for vagabonds. The bell is a few years old, but has been (so it looks) repainted and restored. It is situated in the public area of the guest house, where visitors can walk in, order some fine food and/or drink, sit back and escape the heat of the day.
