The obelisk stands in a prominent location on Overton Hill above the town of Frodsham in Cheshire, England. It can be seen from miles away from certain directions. The war memorial and the land were given to the people of Frodsham by local landowners to commemorate those who fell in World War I. The memorial was unveiled in 1921 by Colonel W. Bromley Davenport. The memorial was later updated to honour those who fell in World War II. The memorial is Grade II listed.
I approached the site from the nearby hotel where I was staying. It was only when I was leaving that I noticed that there is a gated entrance to a walk to the memorial with a further inscription. I was unable to stop to take photographs but Streetview reveals that it reads "Their Name Liveth For Evermore" and bears rosettes with "1914-1918" and "1939-1945". It would be great if any visitors could take photographs of the walk entrance and add them to the gallery. The gates are on Bellemonte Road at approximately N 53° 17.166 W 002° 43.373
