This facility is a Buddhist study centre, "Mahapanya Vidayalai", in name, which translates as "Mahapanya College". The grounds of the college possess a goodly number of Buddhist artefacts, and are attractively landscaped. A pleasant spot to visit, if you find yourself in southern Thailand, with a little time to spare. Hat Yai is one of the two large cities in the south of Thailand.
Standing guard inside the College, inside the entrance way are two, identical, white, 'European' styled lions. They are life-sized, sitting on all fours, and flanking the approach to one of the larger Buddhas in the college grounds.
