This set of dinosaur prints sit on the west patio next to the Visitor Center and display area of Dinosaur Ridge. ..LINK.. .

You can walk the ridge or take a bus (my favorite) and see wonders you would not expect to see, being just north of Denver.

These tracks represent the most common known dinosaurs that wondered this area of central Colorado.

These tracks represent Trace Fossils which are marks in stone like footprints or burrows that are records of activities of organisms. The footprints of dinosaurs, bird, and crocodiles indicate several kinds of activities such as walking on two or four feet, of limping.

When a trace like a footprint is made, the sooner this it is buried the better chance it has to become a fossil.

This display is meant to show various animal traces such as birds, crocodiles, Ornithopds and Theropods. Being educational in nature the petrosomatoglyphs are meant to be representative of the traces left by ancient creatures.
