The post office is located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, opposite the Notre-Dame cathedral.
Inside the building, the superb metallic ceiling was designed by Gustave Eiffel in 1891. Some old maps are painted high up on the walls and there is a huge portrait of Ho Chi Minh, the country's liberator from Western colonialism.
In addition to the usual postal service with many old wooden telephone booths, there are also two wings of souvenir shops.
The place is free, and well worth a visit.
