The statue of Our Lady of Peace stands in a small park located in front of the Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral in the hearth of Ho Chi Minh City.

Made in Italy in 1959, the statue was carved in white marble by sculptor Giuseppe Ciocchetti. The Virgin Mary is standing up straight with one foot on the head of a serpent while holding in her hands the earth globe with a crucifix attach to it.
On the bronze plaque at the base of the statue is written:
Regina Pacis Ora Pro Nobis XVII-II-MCMLIX
Queen of Peace Pray for us 17-02-1959.
During October 2005, the statue was reported to have shed tears, attracting thousands of people and forcing authorities to stop traffic around the Cathedral. However, the top clergy of the Catholic Church in Vietnam confirmed that the Virgin Mary statue did not shed tears, which nevertheless failed to disperse the crowd flocking to the statue days after the incident. The reported tears flowed down the right cheek of the face of the statue.
