The caboose is a Burlington Northern #12157, built in April 1977. It is sheathed in wood and lettered as Hinckley. It is next to the Hinckley Fire Museum which is an exact replica of the original train station that burned in the Hinckley fire of 1894. The caboose is now the office for the museum. The caboose is located in Caboose Park which has a pavillion which houses a picnic area.
