On the Mount Baker Highway is the Rome Grange, an active hub to this spread out community, it offers a regualar breakfast to the community.

Rome was a community with forestry industry sustaining it. As the forests were removed stump farming took placed. Today Rome is more a bedroom community that is about six miles out of Bellingham. However, one of the main features of Rome is the Grange #226. It remains active as the main social centre for the community.
