The clock sits in a small roofed
structure housing the clock mechanism on the east side of the Guildhall in
Sandwich. The clock has two faces, black in colour with gold hands and
numbering. The present Guildhall dates from 1579 and was enlarged in 1912. In
1973 the New Hall and Town Council offices were added.
