A stone church dating from 750AD. Over the years from around 1050 many alterations and additions were added but much of the original church remains built into the current building. Around 1450 the tower was raised. Porch entrance about 1325. Clarion of eight bell 1914. Clock 1882.
In the churchyard as well as many graves is the remains of a Saxon Prayer cross dating back to the origin of the church. There may have been an earlier wooden church on this site.
